Student Performance Evaluations Services

The campus Evaluations Consultant provides the following assistance:

• Getting started with a software approach for writing evaluations
• Using the software approach in large courses with TAs
• Constructing templates specific to course and faculty needs
• Setting up spreadsheet record-keeping for evaluations and grades

Evaluations Resource Library

• A small collection of research and other papers, online sources, and books on the pedagogic aspects of multi-dimensional assessment for student learning and instruction
• Documents on the history of written evaluations at UCSC

Workshops, Presentations and Additional Services

•Workshops to introduce the method of EvalsWare and help instructors and/or staff get started using the method.

• Orientation presentations and resource materials to faculty, students, and staff for understanding the pedagogical benefits of written evaluations and their role together with grades in UCSC's comprehensive student assessment system

• Consultation on the design and implementation of the new administrative infrastructure for record-keeping and delivery of evaluations to students and transcript reviewers
