STUDENT PERFORMANCE EVALUATIONS
At UC Santa Cruz,
undergraduates receive written Performance Evaluations in each class
and in addition are graded on a traditional A-F (4.0) scale. Pioneered at UCSC,
this dual system of assessment is one of the most comprehensive methods
of student evaluation available anywhere. Evaluations are written for
every class in which a student receives credit. Students may elect
to receive written evaluations only (pass/no pass option) for up to 25 percent of their course work (except in some majors which further limit
use of pass/no pass grading).

The Evaluations
Consultant assists UCSC faculty, lecturers, teaching assistants,
and staff with the writing and delivery of Performance Evaluations by offering
support services and campus-wide coordination.
